Recreation Soccer Program
The SSA Recreational Program is offered to allow children to develop physical and social skills through soccer. For many, the recreation program is their first introduction to the game. Recreation play consists of weekly practices and games. Players will be guided through various engaging, imaginative, and fun soccer-based activities by our volunteer staff. Anyone who registers for recreational soccer is placed on a team based on birth year and sex without regard for skill or experience and everyone is guaranteed playing time. As players get older, the recreation program continues to be great option players all the way up to age 18.
Teams will begin forming after regular registration closes, and rosters will be sent out after final registration ends. Once a team is formed your coach will notify you of practice dates, times and locations. Practice is normally one to two times per week and 45 minutes to an hour. Days and times are set by the volunteer coach. Team requests will be taken into consideration at registration, but there are no guarantees.
Regular Recreation (9U-19U):
Game schedules for play will vary Saturdays and Sundays. All games will be scheduled by East Carolina Soccer Association (ECSA), not SSA. SSA has no control over schedules and schedule changes. Games will be scheduled for home and away fields. Travel could include Carteret (Morehead City), Craven (New Bern), Onslow, and Duplin (Beulaville) counties.
Uniform Costs are not included in registration cost (We are currently looking for a new vender so the price is TBD). All SSA Players will be required to purchase an SSA uniform. Jersey Numbers will be selected during your registration process. Please ensure that you select Jersey number for your player and an alternate number (example #1, #10, or #24) during the registration process. SSA has the ultimate call on Jersey Numbers.
