SSA Adult League

Coaches, bring your teams together for a fun day at the SSA Complex for our World Cup Tournament. Medals will be handed out to 1st place teams. Players on your team do not need to be a part of Swansboro Soccer Association to play. The rules consist of the following: Teams will consist of a min of 4 players and a max of 6 players per team. Each team will need a coach, parent, or team manager at all scheduled games. It will be 12 min halves, kick ins only, no offsides and substitutions can be made on any break in play. Last player back is the goalkeeper or you can have a designated keeper. Teams will also be responsible for uniforms. So pick your country (fake country team name) and dress as your favorite world cup team or make up your own team uniforms. If you don't have a uniform, pinnies will be provided during games.

There will be a group stage and a knockout stage. In the group stage teams will be grouped together at random and will play everyone in their bracket. Three points for a win and One point for a draw, no points for a loss. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage. If two or more teams finish even on points, tie-breakers are used: the first is 'goal differential' then total goals scored, then head-to-head results, and finally drawing of lots. In the Group Phase, games may end in a draw.

The second round, or "Knockout Stage," is a single-elimination round in which teams play each other, and there are no draws; and we will go straight to penalty kicks which will be used to decide the winner. Teams will continue to play each other until there is only one team left. If it comes down to penalty kicks the four players on the field must be used first. One is made to be the GK and the other three players will take the kick. If after each team has three players kick and it is still tied the 5th and 6th player will kick followed the GK and then it will rotate back to the beginning.

Team Fee is $60 per team.

SSA World Cup 5v5 Tournament

Players get ready for a fun day at the SSA Complex for our World Cup Tournament. Medals will be handed out to 1st place teams. Players that sign up can request friends and a team manager (coach or parent) they want so teams can stay together. The rules consist of the following: Teams will consist of a min of 5 players and a max of 10 players per team. It will be 12 min halves, kick ins only, no offsides and substitutions can be made on any break in play. One player must be designated as a GK. Teams will also be responsible for uniforms. So pick your country or make one up. Dress in your favorite countries colors or make up your own team uniforms. If you don't have a uniform, pinnies will be provided during games.
